Dried Fruit Varieties: A Guide to Shemsana's Oven-Dried Range, From Citrus to Tropical
From orange to mango and from apple to dragon fruit: the taste, look and best uses of each oven-dried fruit, in one guide.

Every fruit takes on a different character when it is dried. Some turn crisp, others stay chewy; some stand out for their colour, others for their aroma. To choose the right product, it helps to look at each variety together with its uses. Here is Shemsana's oven-dried fruit range, grouped by type.
Citrus: orange, lemon, mandarin
Orange, lemon and mandarin slices are the most eye-catching products in the dried fruit world. Dried with the peel on, the slices carry a distinctive aroma. They are ideal for cocktail and drink garnishes, cake decoration, tea blends and chocolate coating.
Tropical fruit: pineapple, mango, banana, kiwi, dragon fruit
Thanks to their natural sugars, pineapple and mango become sweet, aromatic snacks when dried. Banana slices are a staple of granola and muesli mixes. Kiwi and dragon fruit make a difference in decoration with their bright colours and seed patterns.
Orchard fruit: apple, pear, peach, persimmon
Red apple and green apple slices make a lightly tart, crunchy snack. Pear offers a sweeter, softer profile. Peach and persimmon bring something different to breakfast mixes and cheese boards.
Melon, watermelon and strawberry
Dried watermelon and melon are rare products that spark curiosity, a good fit for special snack lines and gift packs. Strawberry, with its red colour and intense aroma, is one of the most popular fruits for breakfast cereals, yoghurt toppings and baking.
Mixed option: tutti frutti
If you want several fruits in one product, our tutti frutti mix works as a colourful snack or as an ingredient in cakes and cookies.
